Okay, how does article marketing work? The first thing to learn is called, keyword research. (A keyword is simply anything someone enters a search engine.) This research is surprisingly fun, easy and downright intriguing. It can get tedious at times, but overall it is fun, mining for gold keywords. It's all about finding keywords that give you a chance of landing on the first page of Google results.
Let's imagine that you sell shoes as an affiliate marketer. Your research tells you that these keywords can not help you get a first page listing; shoes, black shoes, black tennis shoes. But you do see that, red tennis shoes, might give you a chance at first page.
Next, you write articles with the words, Red Tennis Shoes, in the title as well as in the first paragraph, middle and closing paragraph. Each of your articles will have a link to your affiliate website. Then, you submit them to highly ranked article directories.
If lady luck smiled upon you (which is often what it takes), & your article marketing efforts get on the first page, (hopefully in the top half, ) then your article is going to get some readers, and some of them are going to click through to your affiliate website, & a fraction of those people will end up buying.
